Hoffman Family Fireworks is open on July 4th at all of our locations.  We have our own warehouses and therefore have an ample supply of fireworks, big stuff and other stuff.  Due to an overwhelmingly bust past few days, there are limited supplies of certain items.  So come early today to make sure you get what you need. 

We will also be open from 10:00 until 5:00 on Sunday and all of the coming week with special pricing on remaining stock.

About Us

Hoffman Family Fireworks has been in continual business since 1984. The origin of Hoffman Family Fireworks dates back to my (Rick’s) childhood when as a young boy I sold fireworks out of a makeshift plywood stand in front of my dad’s service station. Though sales weren’t too high back then, my brothers and I had a lot of fun with our summertime business. I gained good experience with running a retail business and the seeds were sown for future fireworks ventures.

Through my teen years and early adulthood, I focused on other pursuits but my love of fireworks and a wild entrepreneurial streak persisted. After getting married, moving to Cape Girardeau and having four children, my wife Mary Ann and I decided it was time to give the fireworks business another go. At this point our children were old enough to help out with stocking and pricing inventory, answering customers’ questions, and ringing up sales. In no time, Hoffman Family Fireworks became a true family business and for many years the entire family would find ourselves up to our ears in everything from roman candles and rockets to smoke bombs and sparklers.

Hoffman Family Fireworks started small but every year we tried to improve the business in some way and we always wanted to have the best quality of fireworks available at the best prices. In recent years I’ve made several trips to the fireworks factories in China where we direct import many of fireworks we sell. These trips have been important for us to observe production so we can be assured of quality and also understand the complexities of the thousands-years-old craft of making fireworks.

Today Hoffman Family Fireworks has four retail locations including a permanent location at our warehouse in Scott City, MO. Three of our four children still come back every year to help in the stands and it has always been a special time for the family. We have literally put buckets of sweat equity into the business (you know what I mean if you’re familiar with the legendary southeast Missouri heat!), and we are proud to offer you and your family high quality fireworks for your celebrations.
