Top Ten Things To Know When Setting Off Fireworks

(especially in dry conditions)

  1. Look Up, Look Down, Look All Around (no combustible materials, trees, power lines around).
  2. Only buy fireworks with a predictable shooting angle and distance. (Leave out the missiles, rockets and winged items.)
  3. Only purchase quality fireworks. (Quality fireworks are tested to be fully extinguished after they discharge and fall to the ground.)
  4. Know what each fireworks does before buying it. (Look for product descriptions and follow all shooting instructions.)
  5. Hose down at least a sixty ft. area around your shoot site and keep a water supply available.
  6. Leave all discharged fireworks outside until the following morning. (We suggest dousing them with water.)
  7. Supervise children if they are using fireworks.
  8. Have a designated shooter and observer (especially if alcohol is present).
  9. Be aware of your pets and neighboring animals.
  10. If most of this is common sense to you, great; then use it when shooting fireworks this July 4th.
